How can my child get recruited?
What are some of the skills you look for in players at the NEXT LEVEL?
How can I STAND OUT to coaches this AAU season?
When people think about skill, they are inclined to think about the basics shooting, passing, footwork, and finishing. Others think about genetic advantages like quickness, and athleticism. But what if there was a skill that was more important than any of the aforementioned? What if this skill was the key to unlocking a child's true potential but the HARDEST to master. Although every coach and program are different, I can guarantee this answer will be pretty universal.
What is this mystery skill you may ask?
CONSISTENTLY PLAYING HARD
That's right folks...CONSISTENTLY PLAYING HARD. It takes a certain type of drive to play hard these days. Some can play hard a few possessions, others can play hard on offense or when things are going well. There's a small percentage of young players who possess that elusive skill to play hard ALL THE TIME.
THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM ON A TEAM (REGARDLESS OF LEVEL FOR A PLAYER WHO HAS CONSISTENT EFFORT. BE A MASTER OF EFFORT.
Just something to consider as you prepare for the Summer AAU Season. Regardless of your current skill set, you can ALWAYS have great effort. Until next time...Work Hard & Stay Humble!
